San Francisco Bay Area Chapter

The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is one of the oldest chapters in the NDTA having received its charter on June 30, 1949.  With a membership of approximately 300, it ranks among the top three chapters in terms of size.  The Chapter is noted for its exceptionally active and professionally rewarding programs and social events, strong participation in local, regional, and national transportation activities; continuing support of emergency planning, and attention to transportation education. The Chapter provides scholarships each year to scholars to assist them in their education as well as donations to worthy charities.  Over the years, the Bay Area Chapter has achieved national prominence and has been selected by National Headquarters on numerous occasions for the prestigious NDTA Chapter of the Year Award.

Chapter members include members from all domestic and global transportation and logistic disciplines of commercial, governmental and the military.  This provides an opportunity to network with a wide variety of professional that not only enhance and individuals growth but provide a value added to their companies.

National Defense Transportation Association

National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA):  Building Government/Industry Partnerships in Transportation, Travel, Logistics, Security and Related Disciplines.

The NDTA has historically served as the link between the transportation executives in Government and their counterparts in industry.  This is natural for the NDTA, since all facets of the transportation, information technology, hospitality and related industries are represented within its broadly based membership.  Government transportation leaders, as well as commercial industry executives are members of the NDTA, either individually or as corporate member representatives.  These same leaders and executives also work as members of six NDTA National Committees which address National Transportation issues in specific functional areas.
NDTA Chapters are located in most major metropolitan centers within the United States as well as Europe, the Pacific and the Far East.  Thus, NDTA offers a diversified membership with a professional organization that blankets the United States and includes significant areas of the world.  Chapter activities bring together transportation professionals from the military, other governmental agencies, and the commercial industry to enhance their knowledge, broaden their professional education, assist their communities and enjoy each other’s company.  Through their interaction, both at the national and chapter level, these professionals perpetuate the government/industry partnership that is the hallmark of NDTA.
