Committees-Chapter Officers-Board Members

The National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) is administered by an elected Board of Directors  from the National Headquarters staff, located in Alexandria, Virginia.

The field activities of NDTA are organized into Geographic Regions, with elected Regional Presidents. The Regional Presidents are responsible for coordinating the activities for the  Local Chapters.

The San Francisco chapter has an A-35 committee. The committee is designed to work with thirty-five years old and under persons who have an interest in the transportation/distribution/logistic industries. The committee is headed up by Charlie Hermosa who previously was a US Marines captain. The A-35 committee assist young adult plan their future by educating them of inter working of the Department of Defense and industry operations. This program provides individuals with an environment in which they can network and find mentoring programs.

SF Chapter has a disaster preparedness committee. The committee is designed to bring awareness to industry players as well as individuals of the need and how to be prepared for possible emergencies in their local area. This committee is chaired by Brigette K. Shanmugam, who is also a participant in her neighborhood CERT program. Ms. Shanmugam and Reginald Ali work with local safety and emergency personnel to bring awareness to this very important subject as well as speak with local industry to ensure they partner up with local emergency groups to ensure a smooth transition of all emergency response sources. They also host an emergency preparedness luncheon each year that highlights local concerns.

Committees are designed to assist the President and the Board of Directors in the management and oversight of the organization. Each committee is chaired by an industry volunteer who devotes time to ensuring the success of the association.
NDTA- Bay Area Chapter has pledged to the principals of the NDTA, and focuses those standards in the San Francisco Bay Area.
